All students and faculty, as well as anyone coming into any BCS facility are required to wear face masks.  This information was updated through a press release by Superintendent Sullivan on yesterday, July 27, 2021.

Please make sure your scholars are registered for school before Monday, August 2nd, which is the First Day of School!


There will be scannable barcodes at the school that will link you to the registration site available on Monday, August 2nd if you have not already registered.

There will be a Community Clean-Up outside the school on Saturday, July 31st from 8:30 am-12 noon.  Volunteers are welcome.  Information:  (205) 254-2662

Open House for Pre-K will be on Sunday, August 1st beginning at 1:30 p.m. Participating parents have already been contacted for attendance and meeting time at this session.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade - Tuesday, August 3rd from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.

2nd and 3rd Grade - Wednesday, August 4th from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.

4th and 5th Grade - Thursday, August 5th from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.

Hello!  If you have your BCS issued laptops at home, please return them to the school. If you already turned in your BCS issued laptops we will be re-issuing them in the next couple of weeks.  Scholars will need their laptops for use during the school year.   Diagnostic testing will begin next week, so the scholars really need these to do their work.  Thanks parents! If your scholar is not feeling well with a fever, please do not send them to school.  If they have a fever, remember, they cannot come back to school until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use fever-reducing aids like Motrin or Tylenol.

Useful Reminders for Hemphill Parents and Community

  REMINDERS: School is closed this Friday, April 30, 2021 for the Late Spring Holiday.   All students must wear masks to school.  All students are to utilize clear or mesh bookbags.  School will be closed on May 30, 2021 for Memorial Day.   The last day for students is June 4, 2021 If your scholar is missing work, please contact the teacher for information on how to get missing assignments turned in.
